A joyous symphony written in deepest despair – Beethoven’s Second Symphony concludes our season. The remarkable Belgian pianist Steven Vanhauwaert performs Saint-Saëns’ sparkling Second Piano Concerto, while the program opens with Beethoven’s celebrated Overture to”The Creatures of Prometheus”.

Metro presents: Santa Monica’s first Open Street Event: COAST

Bike, bus, train or walk your way to a free, engaging and fun way to explore Santa Monica. Enjoy two miles of car-free streets and discover local food, music, shops, culture, dance and games with family and friends.

This local event transforms our streets into a park for the day – with music, restaurants, shops, dance and games with family and friends.  Stroll with Samba dancers, picnic, and feel the breeze as you move through the streets!  Explore the interactive Coast Zones celebrating culture, sustainability and mobility, as well as other attractions along the route.


Visit Santa Monica Spoke in the Mobility Zone at the Santa Monica Civic. Katie Rogers of Carless in LA will be at our booth too!

Let’s go Multi-Modal with the Whole Family.

Expo Line Opens to Santa Monica on May 20th. Lets Celebrate with the whole family!
With funding from our partners at Metro lets take a ride on Expo, Kids Bikes and All!
We start at 17th Expo Station take a short ride on the Expo II Bike Path and then jump on Expo to Exposition Park for a short ride around the Rose Garden, then back to Santa Monica. Fun for the whole family.

Start time planned for 10am,
Receive a FREE Expo II Commemorative t-shirt when you pre-register.
One for each child plus One adult shirt per family., while supplies last!

More celebrating with Free ride time on Breeze Bike Share May 19th – 21st

Visit all three Santa Monica Stations, each is planned to be themed differently – Santa Monica Spoke is planned to be at all three stations. At 4th Street we’ll be moving about with the Big Purple Cargo Bike, at 17th and at 26th St/ Bergamot we will be in the Mobility Hub – Look for #GoSaMo.
This historic event is one not to be missed.

Local Station activities will be hosted at all three Santa Monica stations at 26th St/Bergamot Station (at Olympic and 26 th Street), and 17th St/SMC Station (at Colorado and 17th Street), and Downtown Santa Monica Station (at Colorado and 4th Street) from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and fares will be free on May 21 on the Expo Line as well as on Big Blue Bus and Breeze Bike Share. Each of the new stations in Santa Monica will celebrate the opening and various locations will provide information about local transportation options, and encourage attendees to get out and about to enjoy local businesses and activities happening throughout the day.

More celebrating with Free ride time on Breeze Bike Share May 19th – 21st

An opening ceremony hosted by Metro will kick off service on the Expo Line, which is the first scheduled passenger train in Santa Monica since the Red Car ended service in 1948. There will be a banner break just east of the Downtown Station located at Colorado and 4th Street. Elected officials from Los Angeles, Metro, Expo and Santa Monica will converge to officially open the seven stations that are part of the Expo Line Phase 2 extension. The line is expected to be open to the public in the afternoon and rides will be free.
