Hard to believe it was three years ago we were celebrating the announcement of our Bike Friendly Community Silver Award from the League of American Bicyclists,  Bicycle Friendly Communities (BFC).
Now as we continue our quest for GOLD, join us on a Guided City Tour of some of our newest bike lanes, infrastructure and MANGo. We will start with a visit to the nearly complete Esplanade and our DTSM protected 2 way cycle track and the Expo II 4th Street Station. Give input, ask questions hear about what’s up next – The ride begins in front of Santa Monica City, 1685 Main Street meet at 5:00pm

Bike Night is more than just bikes. You are invited to Bike Night at Union Station, hosted by Metro and partners. Join us for music from Jungle Fire, raffles and games, awesome prizes from Public Bikes and Tern Bicycles
The highlight of the evening, a bicycle fashion show which will feature works by OTIS Fashion Design students under the direction of Todd Oldham, presented with a sneak preview of the Downtown LA bike share Metro Bikes.
Bike Night is free and will feature special guests, live music and entertainment, complementary bike valet, and non-hosted food trucks and vending.
This spectacular evening wraps up Metro’s 2016 Bike Month.
In celebration of Bike to Work Day and the Opening of Expo, the City of Santa Monica’s Breeze Bike Share will have FREE RIDE TIME* from Thursday May 19th through Saturday May 21st.
More celebrating with Free ride time on Breeze Bike Share May 19th – 21st
Visit all three Santa Monica Stations, each is planned to be themed differently – Santa Monica Spoke is planned to be at all three stations. At 4th Street we’ll be moving about with the Big Purple Cargo Bike, at 17th and at 26th St/ Bergamot we will be in the Mobility Hub – Look for #GoSaMo.
This historic event is one not to be missed.
Local Station activities will be hosted at all three Santa Monica stations at 26th St/Bergamot Station (at Olympic and 26 th Street), and 17th St/SMC Station (at Colorado and 17th Street), and Downtown Santa Monica Station (at Colorado and 4th Street) from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and fares will be free on May 21 on the Expo Line as well as on Big Blue Bus and Breeze Bike Share. Each of the new stations in Santa Monica will celebrate the opening and various locations will provide information about local transportation options, and encourage attendees to get out and about to enjoy local businesses and activities happening throughout the day.

More celebrating with Free ride time on Breeze Bike Share May 19th – 21st
An opening ceremony hosted by Metro will kick off service on the Expo Line, which is the first scheduled passenger train in Santa Monica since the Red Car ended service in 1948. There will be a banner break just east of the Downtown Station located at Colorado and 4th Street. Elected officials from Los Angeles, Metro, Expo and Santa Monica will converge to officially open the seven stations that are part of the Expo Line Phase 2 extension. The line is expected to be open to the public in the afternoon and rides will be free.
