In celebration of Bike to Work Day and the Opening of Expo, the City of Santa Monica’s Breeze Bike Share will have FREE RIDE TIME* from Thursday May 19th through Saturday May 21st.
We are coordinating with local partners for this monthly Learn to #RideBreeze & Community Ride.

We are planning to welcome Jeffrey to the West Coast with a ride along the last leg of his journey with City of Santa Monica’s own Breeze Bike Share, presented by Hulu. Together we will ride with Jeffrey from Colorado Center Park to the Santa Monica Pier. There we will celebrate the end of his journey with a finish line ribbon cutting (3:00pm) at the iconic end of Route 66 atop of the Santa Monica Pier followed by a Handlebar Happy Hour at Ristorante al Mare.
Though none would argue a public bike share bike is inteneded or would be most people’s choice for a long-distance bike ride, Jeffrey decided to ride the bike that had given him so much joy commuting to work and for his daily errands in New York City – promoting the versatility and benefits of healthy, active transportation and contributing to a less congested and more vibrant city.
“I hope to inspire you to make some changes in your own life to gain a little more happiness or see the city in a new way. Bike commuting did that for me.”
Jeffrey Tanenhaus
We will meet at Colorado Center Park, 26th & Broadway at 2:30 and ride together on the last leg of Jeffrey Tanenhaus Countri Bike tour to the end of Route 66 at the top of the Santa Monica Pier. There we will celebrate with a Checker Board / Finish Line Ribbon Cutting!

Join Adventure Cycling Association for their regional gatherings in Santa Monica. Adventure Cycling director Jim Sayer will be on hand to talk about the latest in national, and global, bike travel news, including: cool new bike routes all over North America (such as the new Bicycle Route 66 and the forthcoming Texas Hill Country and Chicago-NYC routes), bike overnights, the U.S. Bicycle Route System, partnerships with Amtrak and the National Park Service to promote cycling, national and state advocacy efforts, and big plans for Adventure Cycling’s 40th anniversary in 2016. You’ll also enjoy some beautiful imagery of bike adventures from around the planet. There will be refreshments and a chance to hob-nob with Jim,  the peeps at Santa Monica Spoke and fellow cyclists. Please join us and bring a friend!
You can still RSVP and invite your friends – Please RSVP@SMSpoke.org so we have enough goodies and snacks to go around.
We are marinating up some Sangria, and have some brews and snacks to enjoy while mingling and enjoying Jim’s exciting updates and beautiful imagery of bike adventures from around the planet. Please join us and bring a friend!
