Riders are responsible for bringing their own flat fix equipment. Ride coordinator does NOT bring extra tubes or tools.
Fixed gear bikes must have a front brake, single-speed bikes must have front and rear brakes or a coaster brake. Aero bars are allowed on bikes but CANNOT be used on the ride.
Ride Route & Description:
This ride is a no-drop, for intermediate and advanced riders comfortable riding city streets at 15mph. Although fairly flat, the ride is 35 miles long each way so riders must be prepared to ride the distance at pace. Riders falling off the back may be asked to continue on public transportation if they are holding up the ride too much.
Bring a lock for scheduled stops and front and rear lights just in case we are late getting back.
In addition to the official El Monte Bicicultura route, we will check out the new Cycle Track in Temple City and if time and energy permit, visit nearby Progress Brewing and stop for Chinese or Vietnamese food on the return ride. http://ridewithgps.com/routes/7508780
