Grab your friends, family and dancing shoes for free concerts in the park. Enjoy a sampling of musical genres, free dance lessons and some of the area’s finest food trucks. Every Sunday in August from 5-7pm in Gandara Park (formerly known as Stewart Street Park). More info at www.smgov.net/jazz

This Sunday of the series features The Big Butter Jazz Band, dedicated to playing New Orleans traditional jazz, back from the times when jazz was still dance music. Drawing inspiration from the musicians of the past as well as the young New Orleans bands on Frenchmen Street, The Big Butter Jazz Band will get your feet shuffling, head bobbing, fingers snapping, and body moving with their hard-driving rhythm section and hot ensemble choruses. Come see Big Butter and experience their hot speakeasy sounds for yourself.
Location: Gandara Park is located at 1836 Stewart Street. Park amenities include a children’s playground, restrooms and some accessible parking.
Bike Share & Bike Valet: Take your bike or a Breeze Bike Share rental to the concerts. There’s a Breeze station at the park! Free bike valet available in the Stewart Street parking lot, 1836 Stewart Street.
Big Blue Bus: Ride Big Blue Bus Route 5 to any concert. Board and/or exit at Westbound or Eastbound Olympic and Stewart. Fares are $1.25 each way. Please note westbound Route 5 service will be discontinued beginning Sunday, August 21. Click HERE to plan your trip.
Expo Line: Stewart Street Park is an 8 minute walk from the 26thStreet/Bergamot Expo Line Station. Walk east on Olympic Blvd. and turn right on Stewart Street to reach the park. Click HERE to plan your trip.
Parking: Free Parking is available after 3:30pm in in the Agensys lot located at 1800 Stewart Street, a half block north of the park.
Accessibility: A section of parking spots will be reserved for accessible parking in Stewart Street Park’s lot. Vehicles must have a government-issued accessible parking license plate, placard, hangtag or sticker. The entrance to the Park’s parking lot will serve as a drop-off location. A parking attendant will be staffing the lot. The park and restrooms are wheelchair accessible. If you are using a wheeled mobility device, the walking or bike paths can be used to traverse the park.
