First Ride LA is coming to Santa Monica! Lime is partnering with the Los Angeles County Bike Coalition to host First Ride on Saturday, August 17 @ 9:30 AM.

Immediately following the safety education course, all riders will be able to join LACBC for a guided group ride on a pre-determined route.

What is First Ride Academy?
First-of-its-kind 60-minute interactive and hands-on electric scooter safety course. Designed for riders ages 18+ to learn the rules of the road and demo a Lime electric scooter in a safe and contained environment.

The educational course will be divided into three parts:
Introduction: training on how to use the Lime app and the core safety values
Hands-On: participants will learn how to inspect electric scooters before riding (brakes, accelerator, etc.), how to ride safely on the street, and hands-on safety exercises
Urban Initiation: participants will be able to ride a pre-determined route alongside a trained electric scooter guide and LACBC.

Riders must be 18 years or older to participate. Riders must be signed up as a Lime user or sign up for an account at the event which includes entering their driver’s license and credit card information. First Ride is free but you will need a credit card in order to set up the Lime app on your phone.
