Still time to join the 18th Annual LA River Ride: June 3rd

Join over 2,000 other riders, and enjoy a great day of bicycling along the LA River and through Downtown LA to Long Beach. With five rides to choose from, ranging from 2 to 100 miles, there’s an experience for everyone at the LA River Ride. Bring out the little ones for a free 2-mile Kids’ Ride, or pedal with the whole family at our 15-mile Family Ride (one registration covers a family of 5!). Want a bigger challenge? Train up with our 36-mile Ride or dig into the Metric Century Plus, covering 68 miles. For those wanting to push it to the limit, the Century Ride will go from Griffith Park to Long Beach – and back – and is a great, flat route for first-time Century riders!

LA Marathon Crash Ride: 2018

DATE  3/18/2018
Meet at 3am, Roll at 4am – the Marathon Crash Ride
This ride will start at Tangs and ride the official LA Marathon Race Course
Tangs Donut, 4341 W Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles, California 90029

THIS ISN’T A RACE!
Tangs -> DTLA -> Tangs -> to the sea!

“we just want to do the bike ride we came out for then go have breakfast, then go home and sleep! (or whatever you want to do afterwards!)”

THIS is a RIDE — NOT A RACE
Note that this is a completely unsanctioned ride & all riders assume liability. The ride will be lead out by the LAPD.
Let’s keep it orderly & fun so we can do it again & again!

You are asked to call out potholes, turns, maneuvers. Bring your lights, locks, tubes/flat fix etc. – anything you might need while out!

One organizer made a webpage with all the links. GPXs, a TCX file, and the cue sheet HERE

Ride Bikes – HAVE FUN!!

Join us this Saturday for a Ride with the Mayor & MORE!

After a Year of Monthly Rides & Walks with the Mayor
This Saturday will be the Anniversary Ride with the Mayor & CalBike!
…. but there’s more!

Not only will the Mayor and the City of Santa Monica Mobility Team be there, but we are excited we will again be joined by the Board and staff of the California Bicycle Coalition (who joined us on our very 1st Ride with the Mayor)…

But also another special guestJeffrey Tanenhaus of Countri Bike!!

You may remember Jeffrey and his Epic Cross County Adventure on a Citi Bike – We welcomed
Jeffrey and his Countri Bike with a Finish Line Celebration two years ago at the Santa Monica Pier.

On this Anniversary Ride we have a Trifecta! Santa Monica Mayor / CalBike / Countri Bike
— followed by a HandleBar Happy Hour “Brunch” #HBHH+B

Join Santa Monica Spoke, Mayor Ted Winterer, City of Santa Monica Mobility Team, California Bicycle Coalition and Jeffrey Tanenhaus for this 3x’s the FUN CELEBRATION!

Surely to be a day of fun and excitement, you’ll experience some of Santa Monica’s amazing bike infrastructure, maybe hear about new projects and if you like, chat with the Mayor, City Management / staff, CalBike or Jeffrey on a socially paced bike tour of Santa Monica to BRUNCH! The ride is around 3 miles along the Expo Bike Path and Colorado Ave – is planned to be less an hour in length. We will end our ride at the ‘top of the Santa Monica Pier for a “PHOTO OP” – then continue onto our no-host HBHH Brunch Social at Chez Jay.

Chez Jay became the social crossroads of an incredible cultural revolution that has impacted movies, television, music, art, politics and more. In recognition of its importance Chez Jay was declared a Santa Monica Historic Landmark in 2012. We will be in the new “Jay’s Landing” patio that opens onto the fabulous Tongva Park — “Jay’s Landing” offers it’s own menu to be eaten there or take out for a stroll in the Park.
