Family Bike Festival November 15th: FUN & FREE

Santa Monica Family Bike Festival
at McKinley School

When I say festival – I mean FESTIVAL. This will be a day full of activities for the whole family!
Join us at this free event that will feature, FREE Bike Rodeo / skills course, demos, wood bike banked track, FREE giant slide, FREE raffles, FREE rock climbing wall, DJ entertainment, games, craft booths, local merchants and bike shops with test rides and accessories, route planning and information, FOOD AND FUN!

We are especially excited about the great commitment and enthusiasm building at McKinley for sustainable, active transportation for walking ad biking and to the rockin’ McKinley Sustainability & Beautification Committee we are supporting for this event! They have connected to totally awesome local partners of all types to make this event super fun!

Time:    11am – 4pm
Where:  McKinley Elementary, 2401 Santa Monica Blvd *enter on Chelsea Ave

Schedule:
—–11am – 3pm Bike Skills Course / Santa Monica Spoke
—–Noon commencement
—–3pm Family Group Ride
—–4pm End / Final raffle

Festivities from 9:00am to NOON
The next Kidical Mass Ride for 2015 has gone Massive, KIDICAL MASS(IVE)! Our local, fun bike ride experience for families with kids of all ages will be part of a Global Family Bike Ride Event. There are rides registered from all around the world!
Education with Fun & Prizes! Dress for the theme and you could win a prize!

DATE:    SATURDAY September 19th
TIME:    9:00 AM – NOON
START:  Clover Park, 25th & Oak
– we gather at 25th and Oak, east side of park

Join Santa Monica Spoke and the City of Santa Monica for KIDICAL MASS(IVE).  We will take a family friendly ride in the Sunset Park neighborhood.
Drawings and Prize for BEST COSTUME Arrrrr!

Pre-ride snacks, Coffee and beverages for the kids (Please be sustainable and bring your own cups), Helmet Decorating, Prizes, Free Bike Safety Checks, & Check-in
Arrive early and don’t miss the FUN!
11:00am (or upon return)
Return to Clover Park around 11-11:15am for FUN and post-ride snacks provided by KIND and more fun activities!

* Children must be accompanied and are the responsibility of their parents. Bikes should be in good working condition. Free Safety Checks on site for minor adjustments/repairs. Please use good judgement – ride is on city streets – smaller children should be in a child seat, in a trailer or Tag-a-long……

The next Kidical Mass Ride for 2015, Saturday,  June 27th. A fun bike ride experience for families with kids of all ages! Education with Fun & Prizes! Dress for the theme and you could win a prize!

15 used children’s bikes (14”-16”) will be given out (for FREE) to participants in need
