Climate Action Santa Monica: What a way to go – Bike, Bus. Expo!

Climate Action Santa Monica (CASM) will host its fifth public forum, “What a Way to Go – Bike, Bus Expo,”  at the Church in Ocean Park.

Focusing on Santa Monica’s transportation revolution, the forum will feature a keynote address by Rick Cole, Santa Monica’s new City Manager on “Grand Overview of How Expo Revolutionizes How We Move in the City.”

Emceed by Belinda Waymouth, Environmental Journalist and Huffington Post writer with a Master in Environmental Studies from UCLA. Additional will presentations include William Selby, Santa Monica College Geography and Earth Sciences Professor on “El Nino and Hot Climate News,” Cynthia Rose, Director of Santa Monica Spoke on “Biking in Santa Monica and Santa Monica’s New Breeze Bike Share System,” Aimee Wyatt of Santa Monica’s Big Blue Bus system on “New BBB Routes and Expo Integration,” and Tom Jasmin and Stacy Yamato, Metro Rail Start up Manager and Metro Community Safety Director, on “Expo’s Safe and Far-Reaching System.”

Mayor McKeown & Council Member Pam O’Connor, will share important announcements about the upcoming Paris COP21 Climate Summit which they will be attending. O’Connor will be representing the United States as a member of our Delegation.

Denny Zane Executive Director of Move LA will be joining the program to discuss important future transit funding sources.

The program will include an interactive Transportation Festival between 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm featuring a parked Big Blue Bus, the new Breeze Bike Share bikes and live music.

The forum will be held at The Church in Ocean Park,
235 Hill Street in Santa Monica.

Invitation: Breeze Bike Share Launch, November 12th

Join hundreds of supporters on Thursday, November 12th on Main Street in front of Santa Monica City Hall for a celebration and ribbon-cutting ceremony to launch Breeze Bike Share presented by Hulu—LA County’s first public bike share system, Grant funding from LA Metro.

Sign up in advance online or download the app for a FREE 1-Day Pass for Launch Day November 12th. After the ribbon-cutting we roll-out on Breeze Bikes to any Santa Monica location. All participants in the Bike Roll-Out will receive a commemorative Breeze launch T-shirt, sunglasses, and helmet.

For the Early Birds who are not camera shy! We are looking for 50 people to help us welcome the KTLA Morning Show and CBS This Morning at 6:00 am during their live shots.  Everyone who checks in by 6:15 am will be entered in a raffle to win a one-year Breeze Founding Membership

Breeze Bike Share System Map is here!

The Santa Monica City Council approved a Bike Share System using Social Bicycle “smart bikes” on November 11, 2014, and one year later, almost to the day, Breeze is scheduled to launch November 12th all 500 of its 8-speed bicycles at 75 stations citywide. Several stations in Venice are expected to follow soon thereafter.

Breeze will provide a new active transportation alternative for short hops around Santa Monica to local destinations, connecting residents and visitors to buses and soon the City’s three Expo Light Rail stations.

Breeze Bike Share, Presented by Hulu – Countdown to Full System Launch!

Breeze Bike Share will be sponsored by Hulu, LLC when it launches on November 12th.
Approved by SM City Council the announcement was made on October 13th.

The bikes will be waiting when the Expo Line launches!Breeze Hulu
