Talking to the Metro folks about what LADOT is planning for the gaps in fully separated bike path does not inspire confidence. We really need to look at certain key intersections. If we have gaps with terrible routing and multiple crosswalks just to get to next section, it will severely limit utility of path as a continuous route. I even heard comments from one of the ladies from Metro that people can take the train for one stop being suggested like a real solution.
This is something cycling community has to take a closer look at, the idea it will be built and just be great ride from end to end does not seem assured at all.
This is very disturbing information indeed with Expo Light Rail such a long awaited transportation connection to and from the west side. I was delayed and not able to attend the meeting tonight so I’m very glad to get this report.
I will plan on going to the meeting on Wednesday which promises the same presentation.
