Santa Monica High School Improvements for Safe Routes to School: SAVE the DATE Santa Monica High School… http://t.co/ATeCDNai5o
My hope is that the Santa Monica High School Safe Routes project will lay some of the groundwork for the Michigan Greenway. It’s the parents in cars that make Michigan unsafe for students walking and biking. This safe routes project aims to get more students out of cars and also make the intersections around the school work better. And I hope that other drop-off zones will be developed that do not use Michigan. The best outcome would be fewer parents driving their kids to school. The project will be coordinated by Ryan Snyder, who wrote Santa Monica’s first Bike Master Plan in 1994. We just renewed the plan in 2010 and you have probably seen the results on the streets of Santa Monica.
