Let us know if there is an agenda or a topic list. In BH I’m interested in getting our PD on board with a bike registration program (if we can all agree on one!) and suggested updates to the muni code to reduce ambiguity in interpretation and improve safety provisions for cyclists. I’d also like to see some uniformity in cycling safety-related webpages across cities, which I’ve already briefed Sgt. McLaughlin about. SM’s safety pages are a mess! But Beverly Hills has not a single page devoted to it.
It is planned to be a Community Open House style meeting, with Q&A so no firm agenda to speak of. This is our first meeting with Sgt. McLaughlin so we are just getting to know him. As you might imagine we are looking forward to working with him. As far as the Bike Registration that is on the agenda for a meeting later this month with Chief Jackmann, (which I imagine Stg. McLaughlin will also attend)- presenting the front runner program, BikeRevolution.com – we also hope it will be adopted by the BAC as their recommendation for LA at their next meeting in July. LACBC Board Member, and BikingInLA’s Ted Rogers is coordinating the efforts to get a standard program adopted county wide, and beyond we hope.
